Feeling the heat? A flowing river of lava floats overhead Vivid Fire Kitchen, where the world’s best pitmasters, chefs and barbecue legends meet in a blaze of open-flame cooking and demonstrations.
As smoky aromas, spices and slow-cooked feasts fill the air, they rise to meet a River Of Fire. Made with 160 custom LED tubes, this canopy of flame shimmers above as light flows through it, quietly mesmerising.
River Of Fire is created by Liquid PXL, a celebrated LA art and design studio who combine art and geometry to create minimalist, modular and evocative works. Does its design remind you of anything else you’ve seen on the Vivid Light Walk?
Here’s a hint: Once you’ve had your fire fix, head South towards Darling Harbour to find two more Liquid PXL creations. Keep an eye out for sculptures of fireworks (Electric Dandelions) and an enclave of towering, glowing trees (Lumiverse Transporter).
