Step, skip and snake across Piano Walk — a S-shaped supersized set of ivories on the IMAX Sydney Forecourt that sings out in song and colour with every press! What will you compose?

Create your own opus or collaborate with friends and strangers alike, with many ‘hands’ allowed across the keys at once. And don’t miss the big reveal! Each five minutes, everyone’s movements create a one-of-a-kind composition, complete with a dazzling dance of light across the keys.

Celebrating both the magic and intricate craftmanship of a piano, all forty keys are connected to their own ‘strings and hammers’ that resemble elegant streetlights overhead and illuminate with each note.

Whether you know your scales back-to-front, can only play ‘Chopsticks’ or have never tickled the ivories, Piano Walk makes everyone a musician.

This artwork was originally commissioned by the River of Light, Liverpool.
