What’s more hypnotic than a Newton’s Pendulum – those office toys where five spheres knock each other back and forth? What about a supersized version waiting for you to set it off in glittering waves of light and sound? Created by Sydney studio Amigo & Amigo, Pendulum sways above the crowds at Hickson Road Reserve, glowing with potential energy that needs your help to get kinetic. Simply push an illuminated sphere on either side, then enjoy a show that’s equal parts spectacle and science!
Much like the classic toy, Pendulum turns Isaac Newton’s third law of motion, that for every action there is always an equal reaction, into play. Inspired by a simple toy's ability to translate complex concepts into an engaging experience, Pendulum levels up the spectacle to create a sense of wonder for physics and how our world works.
