Danielle Maas

Danielle is an award-winning writer, director and dramaturg, working across theatre, opera, and musical theatre. Her recent directorial credits include Feminazi (2023; Belvoir 25A), Breaking Glass (2020; Sydney Chamber Opera & Carriageworks) and What the Butler Saw (2018; New Theatre). Danielle has worked as an assistant and revival director on operas by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini and Purcell at Opera Australia, and recently assisted on the world premiere of the operatic adaptation of The Drover’s Wife in Brisbane.

Danielle has also  worked on developments and productions in creative capacities for the Sydney Opera House, Bell Shakespeare, City of Sydney, Vivid, Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Circa, Carriageworks, Sydney Chamber Opera, Ensemble Offspring, Hayes Theatre Company, Ensemble Theatre Company, Q Theatre, Old Fitz Theatre, Old 505 Theatre, PACT, TAP Gallery, New Theatre, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Biennale of Sydney, Sydney Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Sydney Fringe Festival, Sydney Architecture Festival, Camden People’s Theatre, and Hampstead Garden Opera, London. She holds a MA (Distinction) from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.

Tenor Diego Torre was born in Mexico City, and has appeared in esteemed opera productions across the globe and was a leading tenor at Opera Australia for many years.

First Nations tenor Elias Wilson is a member of Opera Australia's Young Artist Program. In 2026, he will feature in Opera Australia's productions of Eugene Onegin as Monsieur Triquet, and The Drover's Wife as Trooper Leslie.
