Ever noticed fireworks look like flower petals, bursting and disappearing into the night sky? In the daytime, these twenty dandelion sculptures stand still, towering above our heads at a whopping eight and a half metres tall. But come night, these flowers erupt in an explosion of colour. As LED animations transform the petals into ‘fireworks’, Electric Dandelions leads the way towards further wonder along the Vivid Light Walk. Best of all? This show lasts all night long.
Created by celebrated LA art and design studio Liquid PXL, Electric Dandelions shows how the simplest shapes can inspire delight, curiosity and joy. You can find more of their works on this year’s Vivid Light Walk, including River of Fire overhead at the Vivid Fire Kitchen, and Lumiverse Transporter, an otherworldly forest enclave at Tumbalong Boulevard.
