Event Details

Two-time ARIA Award-winner and multi-platinum national treasure Matt Corby will take to the Tumbalong Nights stage to send off Vivid Sydney with a special free concert, supported by Australian indie-pop star Gretta Ray.

Corby’s 2023 album Everything’s Fine scored 3 x ARIA nominations, including Album Of The Year, plus a nom for triple j’s Australian Album of the Year.

Releasing his fourth studio album Tragic Magic later this year, it finds pain and joy and moments of pure fun, in liquid basslines, hushed moments and soaring falsetto — all wrapped in ever more sophisticated soul.

No stranger to accolades, Corby’s latest and most adventurous record pulls together a decade of musical threads and production to reveal a body of work that glides even deeper into his R&B roots, while embracing aspects of vintage funk, hip-hop and playful soft rock motifs.

Joining Corby is Gretta Ray, the celebrated singer-songwriter who has spellbound audiences since winning triple j’s Unearthed High in 2016 with ‘Drive’.

In the decade since, Ray has established a knack for sweeping, intimate and emotionally gripping indie-pop – most recently with second album Positive Spin and tours with Maisie Peters, Mumford & Sons and Gangs of Youths.

Plus, families can get into the spirit at 5pm with whimsical children's folk act Angie Who performing sing-a-longs, as part of our Tumbalong Kids concerts each Saturday afternoon.

Free for all to enjoy, Tumbalong Nights ignites Darling Quarter’s Tumbalong Park with 23 nights of music during Vivid Sydney, with a cross-cultural lineup of live music from international legends, Australian icons, emerging stars, plus DJs.
