Our Connected City

Our Connected City transforms Sydney Harbour and the CBD into a breathtaking canvas of light, uniting the city’s iconic landmarks in a synchronised display of colour using dynamic lasers, searchlights and projections.

With more than 38 searchlights, they’ll illuminate landmark buildings and locales, including the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Gateway Tower and the Cahill Expressway. The in-sync spectacle extends to the water too, as forty ferries and boats transform the Harbour into a flotilla of colour. This brilliant display of light around the foreshore celebrates connection—between our city, its people and our spectacular environment.

For the very first time, we are inviting you to be part of Our Connected City. We’re inviting all artists young and old, from across the globe to create your own light show to dance across Circular Quay for 30 seconds of magic. Ready to make your mark? Simply head to the Your Connected City page (available on desktop only) and create via a simple-to-use design tool where you can select your own colours and gradient, powered by Mandylights and set to a sonorous score by Australian composer Bailey Pickles.
