Go beyond the Vivid Light Walk with bonus video and digital art exploring this year’s installation and projection artists and their influences, on display each day via a series of screens across Circular Quay.
Shining a light on several artists’ creative practices and past work, it's a visually arresting, snappy insight into the international and Australian names transforming Sydney each night. Addtionally, we're showcasing a raft of 20th century artists that directly inspired both their work and the shape of contemporary light art today with their reconfiguration of what art can be.
Featured Vivid Sydney artists span Spanish light artist Javier Riera, UK custom fibre-optic specialist Stevie Thompson, Samoan-Australian contemporary artist Angela Tiatia, Torres Strait sculptor and print maker Brian Johnson, experimental Brussels-based artists Studio Lemercier, Australian trio The Luminova Collective, UK multidisciplinary artist Chris Levine and Australian grafitti artist Sofles.
Both a curated exhibition of itself and a rallying sneak-peek at some of this year’s must-sees, the Digital Art Program adds a spark of art to your day, whether you’re on an adventure or just a lunch break.
Part of Vivid Day-Light, the festival's first steps into daylight programming, Digital Art Program is one of several art works in Circular Quay. Discover large-scale sculptures Manawan and THERE, HERE, NOW, as well as several dynamic installations best viewed under both skies.
