Glacial beauty draws you in, as crystalline blues and white swirl across a mesmerising 6m-diametre cylindrical LED screen. But step closer and the colours melt, transforming into a gorgeous, destructive storm. Move back, and the ice is restored, for now.
Winner of a LIT Lighting Design Award, this interactive installation uses motion sensors and a stirring score by revered Norwegian composer Nils Petter Molvær to ask an urgent question about of climate: Are we at the point of no return, or is there still hope?
Created by Norwegian artist Anastasia Isachsen, whose country faces unprecedented arctic melting, Point Of (No) Return is a thought-provoking metaphor for how each individual impacts the environment – both for better and worse.
