Freda's X|Celerate Programs

Freda's, located in inner city Chippendale, is a much loved music and cultural venue showcasing Sydney's best party crews, local up-start dance labels, some of the world’s most interesting DJs, and the best underground bands the harbour city has to offer.

Each night is treated as a unique and special occasion, with the main goal always to provide the best possible platform for the artists and their performance, and in turn create some magic for the audience to experience and participate in.

Now in its 4th year as part of Vivid Music, expect to see some of the best left of centre music on offer during the festival.

This years line up will feature recent Boiler Room debutante and upcoming Melbourne based DJ Toni Yotzi for our opening party 'Queens of the Jungle' alongside Kween Kwong, DJ Crabby and decor by Sydney style icon Champagne Fabulous.

Dance music legend Tim Sweeney joins us at Freda's for the very first time! Famed for his weekly New York based radio show  'Beats in Space' which regularly features the world’s best DJs, he brings his wealth of musical knowledge to fire up our dance floor. We can't wait to welcome him to the party bar.

A night showcasing Andy Garvey's recently launched Pure Space record label, which began life as a show on FBi Radio showcasing some of the best in emerging twisted techno, electro-static and spacey broken beats.

For psych, garage, and lo-fi lovers we are stoked to have Bad Vibrations (formerly Sydney Psych Fest), putting together a line up of some of the best local bands including headliners, the wonderful Party Dozen.

Local record connoisseur Earl Grey showcases his label and namesake of his SkyLab online radio show 'Best Effort' in a party featuring two curated spaces taking in sounds as diverse as live ambient soundscapes to obscuro house excursions.

For disco fiends, there are few better than Melbourne's Wax'o Paradiso, and they join us for an all-night takeover of the party bar to take you on a journey to an incense infused kitsch wonderland.

Part hair salon, part destination for some of Sydney's most far out creatives, Extra Silky has taken the city by storm. Join her for a long weekend extravaganza for the ages - expect light, colour, action, and dance!
