Tune out of the noise and recharge with State Library Unplugged, a relaxing night of acoustic music, vinyl DJs, soundscapes, talks, games and crafts.
Celebrating libraries as a hub of discovery, creativity and community, this free Friday night arrives for a special Vivid Sydney edition, following a popular debut last year.
Head to the historic Mitchell Library Reading Room for reading, writing, origami and games, soundtracked by an original, meditative commission by Sydney artist Jerome Blazé.
In the Friends Room, catch short talks and ideas, or relax with puzzles and art-making materials in the heritage galleries, featuring a diverse range of Sydney's acoustic sounds.
Throughout the night, hear from underground hip hop and r’n’b star A.GIRL; flautist duo The DeeBeeTees; Hamed Sadeghi, a composer trained in Persian classical music and Iranian lute the tar; 17-year-old Gomeroi singer-songwriter Kyla Belle; vinyl DJ Lu Faria; Sydney producer Scruffs, and bush song custodians Warren Fahey Trio.
With plenty of places to create, read, write, engage, think, play and relax in gorgeous surrounds, State Library Unplugged is a night unlike any other.
This event is presented in partnership with State Library of New South Wales.
