May Gibbs
May Gibbs is one of Australia’s best loved classic children’s book writers and artists. May’s deep love of the Australian bush was portrayed in her work, engendering in children her own love of nature. 2018 commemorates 100 years of May Gibbs’ most famous book, Tales of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Published in 1918, the story follows the adventures of two Gumnut brothers on a mission to see a human!
On her passing she bequeathed the copyright of all her works to Northcott and Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Through her foresight and generosity, proceeds from the sale of May Gibbs products have supported thousands of Australian children with disability and their families.
