Fusing swooning synth-pop, confessional darkwave and anthemic emotion, TR/ST is the musical project of Winnipeg-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and producer Robert Alfons, an artist who has been moving dancefloors with his ethereal beats for more than a decade.

Working as a duo with vocalist Maya Postepski, Alfons debuted with 2012’s TRST, an album of critically acclaimed, icy synth-pop featuring the hypnotically pulsating single “Sulk”. Alfons reconfigured TR/ST as a solo project for his move to Los Angeles, and continued shapeshifting through dark synth pop and ambient sounds across 2014’s Joyland and 2019’s ambitious, epic two-part album, The Destroyer. The introspective Performance followed in 2024. In between, Alfons has remixed tracks for the likes of Feist, Moby, Zzhala and ionnalee.

This is his debut performance at the Sydney Opera House.
