Awesome Black returns to Carriageworks with a free, all ages Block Party takeover – a one-night outdoor celebration of Blak music, culture and community.

Born from the energy of 2025’s Echoes of The Block, the Awesome Black Block Party shifts into full party mode. Think firepits, curated DJ sets, live bands, a rotating list of MCs, and a dancefloor that doesn’t clock off early. It’s not a sit-down show. It’s not a festival. It’s a gathering.

At a time when music, gathering and joy feel like small acts of resistance, the Awesome Black Block Party reclaims the space with a contemporary, unapologetic, Mob-first and ally-friendly offering at Carriageworks.
