Event Details

New York City's xaviersobased arrives at Sydney's Metro Theatre, just as his "brilliantly chaotic" (NME) debut album Xavier shifts the DIY rapper-producer from underground pioneer to breakthrough act.

At 23, xaviersobased (real name Xavier Lopez) has released more than 10 mixtapes and 20 EPs since 2020, blending internet rap microgenres such as jerk and plugg with an instinctual, vibrant irreverence reminiscent of Lil B.

After gaining traction in 2024 with two mixtapes and '40', a track with hyped act Nettspend, xaviersobased signed with major label Atlantic Records. With no signs of slowing down, he dropped both EP Once More last August, followed by Xavier in January and a sold-out 26-stop North American tour between.

Celebrated by Pitchfork as "an album completely on its own wavelength inching its way toward the upper echelon of rap", Xavier sees the rapper's playful, underground sensibilities stay central.

As Skrillex and Dylan Brady (of 100 Gecs) collab 'Party At My Place' introduces him to a wider audience, xaviersobased's first show in Sydney is a chance to catch a fast-rising star.
