The Hidden Pulse in collaboration with M+
Join Los Angeles-based artist and filmmaker Wu Tsang in-conversation with Alexie Glass-Kantor (Executive Director, Artspace) at the Playhouse Theatre. Following the talk, Wu will present a special screening of Into the Space of Love (2018), a short, magical-realist documentary that explores the legacies of house music that are rooted in New York black and brown and queer underground culture. Starring Kevin Aviance, Kia LaBeija with Taina Larot, Jeff Simmons, Shaun J. Wright, and Venus X.
Discover this multi award-winning visual artist, writer and filmmaker. Wu Tsang has participated in festivals and exhibitions around the world, including the SXSW Film Festival, Berlinale, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Museum of Modern Art, The Guggenheim, Tate Modern, and many more. In 2018, she was awarded a highly-coveted MacArthur Fellowship, colloquially known as the “Genius Grant”.
