Vivid Music Roaming Acts

Expect the unexpected each Friday and Saturday night of Vivid Sydney, as our troupe of roaming musicians bring free and live music to the Light Walk, from 6-10pm. Keep an ear out – and keep the party going by following along!

Popping up across Central Station Grand Concourse and The Goods Line, our roaming musicians are here to spread joy and good times.

LINEUP

Each Saturday night during the festival, you’ll hear from The Vivid Sydney Brass Band – an undeniably danceable, irrepressibly fun NoLa-style Second Line RnB, soul and funk group. And each Friday (and Sunday 11 June), a new band takes over roaming duties – find the line-up below.

FRIDAY 26 MAY: MINIMUFFINS

Minimuffins is the portable version of the renowned 15-piece orchestra Cumbiamuffin. They’re ready to bring joyful Latin gems and some heat to the Light Walk, working through classics from cumbia zambas, bossa nova and more lively Latin folk genres.

FRIDAY 2 JUNE: MARY HEART

Backed by her trusty band, Sydney’s Mary Heart hollers through the classics, an all-out entertainer who loves to pay homage to the greats before her. Known for her rip-roaring live shows, expect a blend of swing, rock-n-roll and upbeat blues.

FRIDAY 9 JUNE: END NOTES

Sydney jazz collective End Notes is known for its high-energy improvisation sessions, running the gambit of original compositions and reinterpretations of Latin, Brazilian, Afro and jazz classics.

SUNDAY 11 JUNE: MARIACHI AUSTRALIA

Led by powerhouse vocalist Marc Santillana, Mariachi Australia is here to bring Mexico’s beloved genre of toe-tapping racheras and moving boleros to the Light Walk. Get swept up in the passion and fun!

FRIDAY 16 JUNE: THE MORRISONS

Be serenaded by bluegrass darlings The Morrisons, Sydney’s award-winning 7-piece. You’ll be transfixed by with their stunning harmonies and stirring folk melodies, bringing that Appalachian magic to the Light Walk.
