After launching in October 2013, Sydney music night VISIONS is set to host the first edition of its inner-city, Sydney-based music festival across multiple venues on 4 June 2016 as part of Vivid Sydney, the world’s largest festival of light music and ideas.
Since its inception, VISIONS has aimed to bring together forward-thinking artists with a community of Australian new-music lovers. Curated by Deep Sea Arcade in conjunction with Chugg Music and Rare Finds, the event aims to put together progressive line-ups that showcase exciting local acts who are pushing boundaries in psychedelia, garage-rock, electronic and everything-alternative.
The inaugural event features an outstanding lineup of Australian artists including Kirin J Callinan, Deep Sea Arcade, Montaigne and Gideon Bensen, with a smattering of locals set to round-out the bill. Deep Sea Arcade, Zodiac Club, Rare Finds and the team from VISIONS will be spinning records on the night with support from JD Future Legends.
VISIONS has hosted over 15,000 punters in its first two years across a variety of 250-500 capacity venues in Sydney. Highlights at VISIONS have included secret headline sets (The Preatures, Deep Sea Arcade, The Creases) after-parties (DMAs), DJ sets (SPLASHH, DZ Deathrays, Bluejuice), a launch party at Australia’s largest music conference, BIGSOUND, and main stage festivities at King Street Crawl in Newtown in 2015. In September 2015, VISIONS was also invited to curate the opening slot at Small World Festival.
VISIONS FESTIVAL will be held between Fredas and The Lord Gladstone in Chippendale. Entry is free, but limited to availability on the day.
