With their name giving a sly nod to Dario Argento,Terza Madre are a collective of Sydney musicians taking their cues from the lavish orchestral arrangements of Ennio Morricone, the nostalgic star power of Italy's female pop icons, and the synth ridden soundtracks of Giallo cinema.
The eight-piece has spent the last two years flooring audiences with their darkly dramatic renditions of 1970s Italian pop hits, headlining shows at St Stephen's Church, The MCA, and Canberra's 'Segue' Festival, playing alongside a variety of performers, from Sydney shoegaze darlings The Laurels, to Steve Kilbey of The Church.
Terza Madre will be bringing the melodrama and melancholy to the perfectly suited, Lynchian stylings of the mirrored stage at The Golden Age Cinema.
"The response to Terza Madre approaches the rapturous.'' - Collide Art And Culture Magazine
"This band is doing something exceptional.'' - Nick Hollins, Skydreams on FBI
