Sydney club music icon Barney Kato is back for what may be his biggest Studio Party yet: a night of acid house, breakbeat, techno and electro featuring Klasse Wrecks’ guest selectors Luca Lozano and Mr. Ho, local DJ star Ciara, and Barney himself teaming up with Tunnel Signs for a Barney In The Tunnel performance.

One of the city’s true underground legends, Barney Kato has been bringing people together on the dance floor for 25 years with his expansive, intuitive DJ sets – an eclectic mix of breaks, techno, acid, electro and oddball wildcards – and regular events such as Alien and Breakbeat Chaos. Together with journeyman producer Tunnel Signs, he formed Barney In The Tunnel, an Eora club super-duo that has rocked crowds with their hybrid live-DJ performances, featuring a groovy dose of electro, minimal and maximal house and irresistible hedonism.

This year Barney is joined by the twin producer / DJ talents behind cult international vinyl label Klasse Wrecks: Luca Lozano, a retro futurist historian and master of the eclectic interactive DJ set whose sets combine the classic transcendent sounds of the Roland 808 and 303 with informed samples and fresh perspectives and Mr Ho, the energetic, unpredictable and insatiable record digger and resident spinner at Berlin’s Tresor and Hong Kong’s Minh. 

Also joining them will be Sydney fave Ciara, a rising underground selector whose flirty sets glide between techno, big room groove, breaks and global bass.
