In a surprise festival announcement, internationally-acclaimed Sydney rockers, The Preatures have chosen Vivid LIVE to debut new music from their highly anticipated second album, alongside their chart-topping hits in an intimate one-off Drama Theatre performance.
This Australian premiere delivers on a promise The Preatures made to audiences at their sold out Vivid LIVE appearance in 2015 that they were “just getting started”, and marks the first time the beloved Sydney four-piece take to a festival stage in 2017.
“The last Vivid LIVE we did was a huge experience for us,” says Preatures singer Isabella “Izzi” Manfredi. “To get the chance to play our new record for the first time at the Opera House this year is just the greatest. I can't wait.”
‘Girlhood’, the infectious new single, is a call-to-arms urging young women everywhere to become the protagonists in their own story. “Give me heroism, give me what is mine,” Manfredi demands with the sort of knowing nonchalance you might expect from her own heroines, Chrissie Hynde or Chrissy Amphlett.
Likened to iconic acts like Fleetwood Mac and the Pretenders, The Preatures catapulted to instant fame with their breakthrough single ‘Is This How You Feel?’, which landed at #9 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 in 2013. Following the release of their chart-topping debut album Blue Planet Eyes, The Preatures have been working on their highly anticipated second album, recorded locally and produced by Jack Moffitt at Doldrums, their Sydney studio. Grammy nominated producer Bob Clearmountain (producer for The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, INXS) mixed the album.
