After a huge 2021 that saw Mo’ju take the Sidney Myer Music Bowl by storm with the Victorian Orchestra, the Wiradjuri-Filipino singer-songwriter steps back into the limelight with an exciting set of restorative jams and electronica shaped around family, identity, healing and expression.
With three releases under their belt – Native Tongue (2018), Ghost Town (2019), and O.K. (2021) – this cult indie artist and queer icon is as prolific in the recording studio as on the touring circuit. In 18 months, Mo’ju batched 200 shows on three continents, including national tour supports for both The Hilltop Hoods and Paul Kelly, festival dates at WOMAD and SXSW, and two headline tours that included dates at Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Arts Centre.
Now discover why Mo'ju is hailed as “one of Australia’s most exciting singer/ songwriters” – Heavy Machinery Records
Mo’ju is supported by Kenyan-born Australian artist Elsy Wameyo who blends her cultural heritage with Christian beliefs. Soulful rhythms underscore Elsy’s energetic and insightful lyrics, through which she questions current societal boundaries and perceptions. After stand-out festival appearances and support spots, see her command her own lane on the Tumbalong stage.
“5 STARS! It’s hard to notice anything but Elsy herself presiding over this court with total confidence. It’s amazing to see an artist feel so dominant without ever veering into aggression. Mighty.” – triple j unearthed
