Lloyd Spiegel (Melb) Album Launch @ Camelot Lounge
Australian Blues master and acoustic guitarist extraordinaire Lloyd Spiegel is delighted to announce the release of his ninth album ‘This Time Tomorrow’ and is headed VIVID SYDNEY at Camelot Lounge to celebrate!!
“Australian blues and roots icon Lloyd Spiegel, in his first Bluesfest appearance, holds his own full house in the palm of his hand, just him and his trusty Cole Clark, a full swag of songs, a full tote of stories told with humour and aplomb, the man able to make his guitar do anything at all as he tells tales both tall and true, his own superbly written material marrying with blues standards in a way few others are able to manage. The man is a mountain, he’ll surely be back.” Sam Fell – Rolling Stone
Rockabilly Party with Wes Pudsey & The Sonic Aces @ Django Bar
This is a night not to be missed as Django Bar becomes a 1950’s diner, complete with swing dancers, DJ’s and one of Australia’s hottest Rockabilly bands, Wes Pudsey and The Sonic Aces.
In a career spanning two decades, world-acclaimed songwriter Wes Pudsey has penned and performed some of the most memorable anthems to emerge from Australia’s independent music scene. Songs now considered modern Rockabilly classics – My Baby Looks Like Betty Page, Maybe, There’s Gonna Be A Rumble, Hepster Daddy-o and many others have taken the Sydney-based rocker around the world several times, backed by his frenetic trio of roots-rock adepts The Sonic Aces. Headlining at music festivals including the Hemsby Weekender in the UK and America’s Viva Las Vegas, Wes has shared the stage with fellow roots-rock luminaries Southern Culture On The Skids, members of the legendary Rockabilly group The Stray Cats, and American swing-jump blues legends Royal Crown Revue, to name but a few.
Limpin Jimmy & The Swingin’ Kitten will be DJing on the night too!
