VIVID CLOSING NIGHT PARTY:

Camelot Lounge will become “The tavern at the end of the Euroverse” for this huge Balkan Gypsy Party on the last night of Vivid Sydney!!! Nadya’s 101 Candles will raise the roof with a night of stomping Balkan-Gypsy firecrackers as well as some French, tango, and Italian classics thrown in in for good measure. Nadya Golski, “a contralto of power, range and conviction…has the sort of voice that would light up a room if the power failed. . ”

Aria award nominees King Tide are Australia’s’ premier original Rock Steady Reggae gut soul band. King Tide have been touring non-stop since the release of the bands third album Roots Pop Reggae released by Vitamin Records July 2009 with appearances at festivals as wide and varied as “Sydney Festival Opening Night”, “Womadalaide”, “Ragamuffin festival”, “The Great Escape”, “Peats Ridge Festival”, “Wave Rock Weekender” W.A, Coast Fest”, “Playground Weekender”, “Reggaetown”,“Island Vibes Festival” “Sub Sonic Festival”, “Mullum Fest”, “Wollombi Fest”, “Rainbow Serpent Festival”, and recently headlining Reggaefest in Ballina with and as the backing band for Jamaican studio one legend Stranger Cole.

"There is much to marvel at when rock steady royalty King Tide take the stage. From out of the fattest, deepest grooves come brooding horns, delay-warped keys and steady, muted stabs of electric guitar.”
Brett Winterford, Sydney Morning Herald

"King Tides third album’ Roots Pop Reggae” is a “infectious melody welded to sinuous rock-steady dance rhythms”
Anthony O’Grady, The Australian

"With Hughes sounding like he was born and raised in Jamaica the moment the first song. The catchy “Atomised” bounces into life. You know you are in safe rock steady hands."
Martin Jones, Rhythm Magazine

“Simply, and I have written this before. King Tide is one of the best live acts in this country"
Paul Busch, Faster Louder
