Ken Oath's Vivid Sydney showcase celebrates two years in the game by showcasing some of their favourite Aussie live acts and disc jockeys. Featuring:
Scraps (Live)
Brisbane “dehydrated disco” producer Laura Hill explains her faded headspace of dazed electro-wave as “bogans in the Queensland sun — so dehydrated 'cause the water tastes like sh*t.” Hill’s synthesis of raw rhythms, sequencer intuition, and echo-soaked storytelling has honed and decayed, heat waving between low-lidded new wave, woozy acid ballads, and alienated karaoke. Scraps released one of our favourite albums of 2016 via Moontown Records and appeared on the Ken Oath ‘Breathing Space’ cassette earlier this year.
Midnight Tenderness
The latest release is the dreamy Refresco EP by Midnight Tenderness. Known as one of the biggest sweethearts in Melbourne, MT is also a much-loved disc jockey having heated up the dancefloors of Melbourne’s finest party institutions, as well as his own infamous Loose Joints parties.
Angophora (Live)
Max Santilli and Jacob Fugar are the Balearic hitmakers we’ve all been waiting for. Angophora present a fully realised sonic environment where resting pulses and humid atmospherics frame gentle percussion, warm synth work and tasteful guitar licks.
Lauren Hansom
Lauren has no boundaries when it comes to her exploration of music. Listen to any of her mixes to quickly find yourself floored by the beauty of her musical palette. Lauren has been receiving international recognition for her selections and has earned support slots for artists like Tako, Jan Schulte, Palms Trax, John Talabot, Zaltan, Jayda G and Noise In My Head
