Body Type have been making ripples in their short time in the spotlight pond. Playing their first show in late 2016, their scrappy melodies and lo-fi pop sensibility has made them jewels in subsequent Sydney line-ups and festivals.
The band consists of old pals Sophie, Cecil, Annabel and Georgia who attribute their burgeoning garage sound to “learning how to play their instruments as they go along”. Wearing their beginners status on their sleeve, Body Type’s lyrical musings about heartbreak and share house ennui spiked with scruffy rock lines and crystalline vocals are addictive and testament to their growing popularity. Recent release ‘Ludlow’ has been gaining significant airplay also and gained them top slots at Sydney Festival, Gizzfest and Secret Garden Festival, as well as invitations to support Cate Le Bon, The Coathangers, Big Thief and Frankie Cosmos.
Their live show is a combination of dreamy contemplation and energetic jams and you can catch the tail of their ascending comet at a special evening on the mirrored stage of Golden Age Cinema and Bar.
