Andrew Gurruwiwi Band + Setwun and the Soulstranauts | Tumbalong Nights

It's all things funk with Andrew Gurruwiwi Band, the electric 7-piece outfit from Arnhem Land. Multi-instrumentalist and DJ Setwun brings along his live band The Soultranauts for a set of soul-jazz grooves with a late-night dance tempo. 

Following King Stingray and Baker Boy before them, this high-energy funk and reggae group are the newest act to burst out of Arnhem Land. Creating a new sound of Yolngu folk, they're led by their namesake - the shy-but-extravagant, blind, keytar-wielding Yolngu Elder singing in his native language. 

With just one track out, the explosive, irresistible 'Gatjumak', this band is proving on stages across Australia that they can and will get the party started. 

Recognised via international tastemakers Rhythm Section, NTS and Redlight Radio, Setwun is no longer a secret of Sydney's underground thanks to his sleek debut EP, Our World. Together with The Soulstranauts, he'll deliver soul-jazz grooves with a late-night dance tempo.
