Vivid Memories

Returning in 2017, Vivid Memories are two giant photo-frames that give Vivid attendees a lasting memento of their time at Vivid Sydney – simply by taking their place in front of a glorious Sydney icon and taking a photograph. 

These playful Canon installations allow festival-goers to pose with friends and loved ones within a giant frame – perfectly sized for a 4x6” photo print out — against Sydney Harbour in all its Vivid finery. As an extra treat, your photo will be taken by Canon and shared with you via email — and, if you like, printed out for free, inside the nearby Canon HQ at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.

For centuries, old family photographs have been a treasured part of our family history, capturing a moment in time for generations to come. This installation evokes memories of those faded black-and-white portraits in age-tarnished frames you used to see at your grandparents’ house. Vivid Sydney puts a twist into each image with life-size proportions and a spectacular backdrop.
