A Floating World

Renowned local musicians team up with digital visual artists to create an ever-changing sonic painting.

Three five-minute sequences combine in a 15-minute loop. In the first, renowned Sydney DJ Peewee Ferris teams with digital visual artists from UTS and Animal Logic. Next, multidisciplinary musician and artist Rainbow Chan collaborates with video artist Carla Zimbler. Finally, musicians Jonti and Jono Ma (aka Jagwa Ma) team up with design-driven creative studio BABEKÜHL. Read more about Floating World

Progressum

Watch sound and light play with our perceptions. As small fragments of light initially appear from the darkness, increasing and diminishing over time, they heighten our spatial awareness. From subtle glows and twinkling lights to dramatic lighting arcs sweeping through the space, each illuminated motion takes us on a journey as it travels in perfect sync with the soundscape.

Progressum is a collaborative intersection of lighting and sounds by Sydney based artist and technical designers, Peter Rubie, Des O’Neill and Peret von Sturmer. Built around a precise spatial synchronicity and featuring astate of the art, three dimensional IOSONO sound system and dazzling array of lighting.Progressum is an exercise in sonic and visual immersion. Temple of Joy

Once, heading out to meet friends and dance was a normal fun part of our nightlife. Sydney was the epicentre of Australia’s rave, techno and house music party scene. The city’s world-famous dance music culture took a battering between lock-outs and lockdowns, and almost disappeared entirely.

This immersive artwork is a homage to Sydney’s dance party scene and an ode to the joy and happiness it fosters in revellers. Temple of Joy asks if – together – we can revive a new dance music culture and re-energize the night-time soul of Sydney. Read more about Temple of Joy
