H0RSE

H0RSE is a boutique design studio creating public art at the intersection of technology and sustainability. The Sydney studio's aim is to surprise and delight and maybe provide a brief escape from everyday life. H0RSE specialises in projection mapping of animated content onto complex organic surfaces and façades. The award-winning artists are passionate about creating enchanting, immersive visual experiences for audiences at events, festivals and ceremonies such as Macula and New York Sunday at Vivid Sydney 2022, the latter a collaboration with Australian artist Helen Eager projected onto the Museum of Contemporary Art. Nature and the environment are an important source of inspiration for H0RSE and they use sustainable techniques and materials wherever possible.

Event Details

Living for centuries, towering trees are the 'silent observers' of history, witnessing massive changes as humans move and expand their empires across the globe. By day, a wall of tree discs stands dormant, but at night, they finally 'speak', as precise projection mapping brings alive the story their growth rings tell of the decades passed. As the lights dance around the rings to an atmospheric soundtrack, the rich histories and worlds contained within the wood is brought back to life.
