Wander through a spiralling tunnel of bamboo and get a sense of the versatility and beauty of one of the world’s most regenerative natural resources.

Here, each pole is precisely mapped with kaleidoscopic, geometric patterns that are synced to a layered organic soundtrack. Be buoyed along by the dance of light and soundscape that fuses ephemeral woodwind instruments with sound from the Australian bush.

Named after the centre of the human eye’s retina that enables us to perceive colour and fine details, this unique installation combines sustainable architecture with projection and sound. Together, designers, architects and projection experts have mastered the intricacies of 3D mapping organic material so that a vibrant ‘natural’ wonder contrasts the steel and glass of the city skyline. Expect Macula to be one of this year’s crowd favourites given it provides an extraordinary backdrop for selfies and videos.
