For the entirety of Vivid 2016, the ground floor of the Newtown Social Club is going to be taken over by students of University of Technology Sydney’s Interior & Spatial Design course.
These 24 2nd and 3rd year students of ‘Light, New Materials & Form’ have been assigned to use projections, lit sculptures and lighting to change the atmosphere of the venue to celebrate the Social Club’s love of the thriving ‘Live and Local’ music scene, while also exploring the synergies between light and music.
This event is coordinated by Professor Michael Day who will be imparting his extensive knowledge and passion onto his current students to make this celebration of Vivid as great as it can be. Michael Day was born, raised and educated in Sydney. University of Sydney Architecture graduate. University of Sydney Master of Design Science (Illumination) graduate.
