Crowded Cadmans is a 3D animated artwork that comes straight from the imaginations of Sydney-based artists living with disability, beamed onto Cadmans Cottage in the heart of The Rocks. Co-developed with the University of NSW Art, Design and Architecture faculty, the project is a way of challenging existing barriers to access for artists living with disability and becomes a force for social change.

Come and meet our cast of otherworldly characters – Specimen 10, Jessica the Astronaut, Pinky Moon, Robo-fly and others – who must collaborate to ensure the planet is not taken over by chaos. Watch as the façade is transformed into a phantasmagorical world where our characters travel through time and work towards restoring order to this complex ecosphere.

Crowded Cadmans is designed by the same artists who created Dream States for Vivid Sydney 2019, which was projected onto Sydney's International Convention Centre . This year’s projection has expanded to include motion reactive characters that move and perform in response to the artists’ own body movements. Each artist brings a unique approach to the development of their character’s look and personality. Using a variety of different creative methods, the artists have captured the essence of these wacky creatures to create a quirky and dynamic work.

If you look carefully, you might even see the artists themselves hiding in the work!
