Admired for its grandeur, the harp is one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. ChronoHarp – forged by Sydney-based creative collective Amigo & Amigo – interprets and extends the beauty of the harp into a colourful, walk-through sound and light experience. This innovative instrument is a large-scale, precisely woven triangular form that reacts to your hand movements by sending light animations reverberating throughout its structure.

While a traditional harp is designed to be played by a soloist, ChronoHarp beckons all to take part in its immersive light music. As you and fellow festival-goers interact with the work, the lighting state of each string changes from white to a colourful spectacle. At the hands of many players, the prism fills with light and initiates a sound and light show masterminded by music collaborators Otis Studios. The work resonates with our collective harmony and reminds us that in playing together we create more joy and shared memories.

Amigo & Amigo is a collective of artists, designers and engineers who create works that capture people’s imaginations. The interactive lighting and design studio has exhibited at Vivid Sydney for eight consecutive years and their work has been featured internationally throughout Asia, South America, Europe and the Middle East.

Otis Studios makes music for film, advertising, games, installations and dance floors. Their multi-disciplinary team of music producers and sound engineers approach each project from both creative and technical angles. Otis Studios pride themselves on dedication to their craft, originality, resourcefulness, and collaboration.
