Event Details

Australia’s premier international film festival is back for 12 days and nights in June with the world’s best new films. Sydney Film Festival has partnered with Vivid Ideas to present a diverse range of talks with guest filmmakers and industry experts.

Screening in the Festival this year is a special sneak peek of the fantastic new thriller Upgrade, about a man who is implanted with a miracle-performing microchip. He is soon transformed into a super-warrior bent on revenge. This is the local premiere of Aussie genre maestro Leigh Whannell’s (Saw, Insidious) cyberpunk-horroraction-thriller and the winner of the SXSW Midnighters Audience Award.

Come along for your chance to meet the creator of the Saw and Insidious franchises, as he talks about Upgrade and his career to date.
