Associate Professor Alex Munt

 Alex Munt is a filmmaker, researcher, and educator exploring creative practice in screen media. Before academia, he worked in design, architecture, and 3D digital media in Australia and the UK. As head of the Creative Practice Research Group at UTS, he leads research into film, screenwriting, and digital storytelling.

Julia Scott Stevenson Headshot

Dr Julia Scott-Stevenson

Dr. Julia Scott-Stevenson is a researcher and creator specialising in immersive media and climate storytelling. A UTS Chancellor’s Research Fellow, she directed Collective Visions, an AI-driven screen experience shown at Climate Action Week Sydney. With a PhD in interactive documentary and social impact, she speaks internationally on XR, VR and digital cultures.

Dr. Justin Harvey

Dr Justin Harvey

Dr. Justin Harvey is an artist, academic and researcher exploring the creative potential of human-machine collaboration. His work spans moving image, installation and virtual reality, often embracing experimental AI-driven methods. As a lecturer in Media Arts at UTS, he pushes the boundaries of digital storytelling, engaging with emerging imaging technologies in playful and unexpected ways.

Dr. Gregory Ferris

Dr Gregory Ferris

Dr. Gregory Ferris is a media artist and researcher who works across interactive media, VR and traditional film. His large-scale immersive works have been shown at festivals nationally and internationally. As a senior lecturer at UTS, he explores new ways to construct and experience immersive storytelling.

Matt Hughes

Matt Hughes is a creative technologist developing mixed reality for stage and public spaces. His work across theatre, music, dance and installation leverages computer vision to drive artistic expression and audience participation. His work has been showcased at festivals across Australia, NZ, Europe and Latin America, and his recently completed PhD at UTS’ Animal Logic Academy explored the integration of mixed reality in live performance.

Seána Dubh

Seána Dubh is a Darkinjung and Gadigal-based artist working in sound art, electro-acoustic composition and immersive media. With a background as an audio engineer in film and TV, she now pursues a PhD at UTS, where she also teaches audio technology. Her work is driven by a fascination with the strange, eerie and uncanny.

Step into a world where fact and fiction blur and experience multiple versions of the future in I Dream of Reality. This Extended Reality/Virtual Reality exhibition immerses you in alternate realities crafted by leading researchers and artists at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

Take a cyber shaman’s hand and be led through his layered childhood dreamscape. Explore the Australian landscape reimagined through new eyes as pasts and futures collide. Engage with 3D humans and AI-driven interactive exhibits that confront urgent questions about climate, technology and human nature.

Every experience is a question hanging in the air, a glimpse of a possible tomorrow. Walk away wondering: What was real? What was a dream? And does the line between them even matter?
