Vivid Ideas at Chatswood Chase: Gordon Monro, Chris Bowman from tranSTURM and Susannah Williams

Gordon Monro
Dr. Gordon Monro describes himself as a generative artist: generative artists design processes that in turn generate artworks. His work in Future Abstract, Nanocosm is a miniature world or ecosystem generated by a computer program written by the artist. The world of Nanocosm is parallel to the natural world, not a copy of it. Nanocosm evolves ‘on the fly’ and changes throughout the course of the exhibition.

Chris Bowman from tranSTURM
tranSTURM is an international interdisciplinary artist collective that work collaboratively to explore the potential of light. They have produced numerous commissions for exhibition here in Australia and overseas. Chris Bowman—one of tranSTURM’s leaders—will discuss their sculptural light mechanism that manipulates animation to create a holographic  light installation in the Future Abstract exhibition.

Susannah Williams
Susannah Williams creates site-responsive installations that audiences can touch, listen to and sometimes walk through, Susannah uses unconventional media such as conductive materials, field recordings, found objects and virtual reality.
Her work has contributed to art spaces, festivals and residencies both nationally and abroad. Susannah is a Researcher at the Victorian College of the Arts, who has exhibited in Australia and overseas. For Future Abstract she has created an immersive VR installation made from Tilt Brush drawings with field recordings of environmental sounds.
