Event Details

Perfectly placed on the Warrane/Sydney Harbour foreshore, there’s nowhere better to take in the excitement of Vivid Sydney than the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. Throughout the festival, the MCA will be open for MCA Lates on Thursdays and Fridays until 9pm. Visitors can enjoy a unique blend of contemporary art, music, projection, and social experiences that place the MCA at the heart of Vivid Sydney’s night-time cultural program.

Two special events are planned:

First Light Cocktail Party

To celebrate Angela Tiatia’s Vaiola being the first illumination to light up Vivid Sydney 2026, on opening night, the Museum invites Sydney to a premier cocktail party to witness the show start, from the elevated panoramic views of the Loti Smorgon Sculpture Terrace. This is the MCA's largest outdoor terrace, with spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Get the front row to all the magic of Vivid Sydney at this incredible three-hour cocktail event (5:30pm – 8:30pm) for just $225 (including GST and museum entry).
