A feast for the senses, where music, moving image, history and a three-course dinner come together in the atmospheric surrounds of The Mint.
In partnership with Museums of History NSW, Dream Feast is a collaboration centuries in the making, as Sydney-born, New York-based culinary project ARLO Communal find inspiration in The Mint’s Caroline Simpson Library Collection – a rich archive of Australian design and domestic life spanning more than two centuries.
Honouring the stories of immigration and Australia’s changing tastes captured in the Collection, ARLO Communal's approach is decidedly contemporary and sophisticated. Inspired by past menus and dining trends, Dream Feast shows that while dining has evolved over time, the ritual of coming together remains central.
As the evening unfolds, The Mint’s dining room shifts and responds. Animated projections pull from the patterns, textures and colours from the Collection, alongside a commissioned soundtrack mixed live by Munasib, an Australian-born Bengali DJ, radio host and curator.
Celebrating The Mint’s long tradition of transformation, Dream Feast is a special, one-off dining experience, both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
