We are expecting large crowds for the upcoming Vivid Sydney drone shows. Plan ahead with the below travel advice.
The Vivid Sydney Drone Show 'Written in the Stars' takes place on the following dates from 9.10-9.20pm (subject to weather conditions):
- Monday, 12 June 2023
- Wednesday, 14 June 2023
With road closures and parking restrictions in place each night, visitors are encouraged to leave the car at home and plan your trip by public transport instead. Please take note of the following service changes during the Vivid Sydney drone show.
If traveling by train, we recommend arriving and departing from Martin Place, Town Hall and Wynyard Station and continue via George Street on foot to the harbour.
Circular Quay Station
From 8.30pm to 9.30pm trains on the T2 and T3 Lines to the City will not stop at Circular Quay Station while Vivid Sydney drone shows are underway in the harbour. Alight at Wynyard and walk to Circular Quay.
Alternatively, change at Central Station for trains to Circular Quay leaving from Platforms 20 and 21. These trains will arrive at Platform 1. There is no view of the drone show from Platform 1, exit the station to see the drones from Circular Quay eastern or western promenades.
If traveling by Light Rail, we recommend catching the L2 and L3 light rail services to Town Hall and continue on foot to the harbour.
From 9.15pm to 9.45pm L2 and L3 light rail services will not run between Town Hall and Circular Quay for pedestrian safety. Continue on foot from Town Hall towards the harbour.
Measures are in place to ensure everyone can enjoy the drone shows safely, and from many vantage points around Sydney Harbour. Stay up to date with the latest travel updates from Transport NSW and you can find further information on travelling to Vivid Sydney in our Trip Planning Guide.
The Vivid Sydney drone show will also be live streamed on Vivid Sydney channels on Monday 12 June.
