Our parties continue as we present a night with NOTORIOUS WOMEN!
Kings Cross was infamous as Sydney’s Red Light District and a fertile playground for world-class entertainment across every genre of performance. The geographical hub for the original ‘hive mind’, it was an area where the most stunning Go-Go dancers, strippers, beatnik poets and hustlers congregated, entertained and mingled. Over the decades, many incredible women excelled and made a career and name for themselves in this environment. To them, this was their everyday life. To the outside world, these women were seen as ‘badass’, strong, fearless and mostly NOTORIOUS.
Be graced by the pioneers, originators and spawn of these creators for one night of debauchery in our dirty old dive bar – the perfect setting for a decade-by-decade tour across the rich performance history of the Cross! NYC based musicians Lance Horne and Eleanor Norton will provide the soundtrack for the evening, dropping in to the dive bar on their way through an Australian tour with Alan Cumming.
Introducing the ladies (and one gent) of the night:
Elizabeth Burton - Notorious burlesque goddess and strip club maven
Christa Hughes - Notorious genre-bending singing sensation
Penny Clifford - Notorious Transgender Showgirl spanning 3 decades
Glitta Supernova - Notorious Sex Clown
Emmy-Award winning Music Director: Lance Horne - Notorious good looks & dexterity. Accompanied by cellist Eleanor Norton.
Join us for an evening of performance, improvisation, readings and music as we celebrate our home-grown NOTORIOUS WOMEN.
