Dutch-born chef Sander Nooij grew up in a large family on a small island in the Netherlands. A natural curiosity led him into hospitality and Sydney, where he has built a career focused on thoughtful, produce-driven cooking.

In 2025, Nooij and Mark Hanover bought two-hatted restaurant Yellow, after several years of Nooij as head chef.

One of Australia’s most celebrated chefs, Manfield has sharpened her focus since 2020 to regional destinations, including co-curating the award-winning five-day food and drink festival Savour the Tweed. In an unforgettable dining experience, her visionary cooking combines with Nooij’s continuation of Yellow’s pioneering plant-based botanical cuisine.

Vivid Food’s inaugural Regional Dinner Series is a citywide celebration of regional produce and talent spanning some of Sydney’s finest restaurants – all to highlight the rich culinary identity and stories of NSW, with each event focusing on a specific region.

Across seven pairings and 12 events, the Series sees acclaimed regional chefs collaborate with Sydney restaurants and chefs for one-off menus that hero their home’s ingredients, winemakers, brewers and more.
