How to submit an audition
- All applicants must be over 18 by 30 April 2025
- Registrations close April 30 at 5pm
- Please upload your audition via a YouTube link only
- All auditions must be no more than 45 seconds
- All applicants can only apply once If selected you will need to perform with a backing you provide on an MP3 file or self accompany guitar or piano only
Terms and Conditions
1. I confirm I am over the age of 18.
2. With respect to my audition tape, I acknowledge:
a. my tape will be shared with appropriate people within the Event Organiser and Destination NSW for judging purposes;
b. my tape will be retained for as long as necessary to finalise the judging process and will be managed in accordance with Privacy Policy | Destination NSW | Vivid Sydney
c. the judging process is entirely at the discretion of the Event Organiser and Destination NSW, and the judges decision is final;
d. I understand I may not receive correspondence regarding my audition and Destination NSW or the Event Organiser are unable to provide feedback;
e. I will be notified of the outcome of my audition by Monday 12 May (5pm)
f. I must confirm that I wish to participate in the Event by no later than Thursday 15 May at 5pm and
g. if I do not confirm that I wish to participate in the Event by the time specified above, I forfeit the opportunity to participate in the Event.
3. If I am given the opportunity to participate in the Event, I acknowledge and agree:
a. my performance will be at my sole cost and expense, and I will not be renumerated in any way by Destination NSW or the Event Organiser;
b. my performances must be live at the venue and appropriate for a general audience. Offensive or inappropriate content will not be tolerated, and performances may be terminated at any point by Destination NSW or the Event Organiser at their discretion;
c. I agree to provide a relevant and fully rehearsed performance of professional standard and provide all necessary equipment for the performance including props and / or musical instruments;
d. any performances involving fire, special effects, video content, magic and/or audience participation must be discussed with Event Organiser and Destination NSW representative prior to the Event date and follow all required legal and safety protocols;
e. the Event Organiser and Destination NSW reserve the right to refuse the performance on any grounds related to safety or performance content;
f. the Event Organiser will not be able to facilitate rehearsals or venue visits prior to the performance;
g. performance slots and placement are at the discretion of the Event Organiser;
h. audio-visual system including microphones and professional lighting will be provided, and one
(1) technical operator for the performance. Any additional technical equipment outside of the standard provisions to be provided by the performer, at the written approval of the Event Organiser. The performer will not be permitted to provide their own audiovisual technicians /operators or adjust lighting or sound equipment prior to the performance.
i. food and / or drink, including hospitality riders, will not be provided;
j. I may be photographed or filmed for the promotional purposes of the venue, the Event or the Vivid Sydney festival;
k. decisions made by the judges at the Event are final and binding. No correspondence or appeals regarding judging outcomes will be entertained;
l. prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other items.
4. This Event may be modified or cancelled at any time without prior notice for any reason. If it is cancelled or modified, I acknowledge that I have no claims for any costs, expenses, losses or damages against Destination NSW or the Event Organiser.
