Noah Kahan, the US singer-songwriter behind the current global smash 'Hurt Somebody' (with Julia Michaels), announces his first ever Australian headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne this June. The 20-year-old breakout artist will be hitting Sydney's Oxford Art Factory on Thursday June 7th.
Produced by Grammy Award-winner Joel Little (Lorde, Khalid), Noah's debut EP Hurt Somebody was released earlier this year to widespread acclaim. Lead single, 'Hurt Somebody' (with Julia Michaels), is a guitar-driven pop gem showcasing Kahan's unique brand of stripped-back acoustic folk flair. The track featured in Spotify's coveted New Music Friday Playlists around the world, launching it up the Global Viral Chart. It has since amassed more than 22 million streams, reached Top 10 airplay in Australia, and earnt the acclaim of Billboard who wrote, "it allows the songwriter to showcase his ability to blend mature themes with a folk-pop twist."
"Pulling off the band-aid in a relationship or any situation is never easy," Noah explains. "It's a universal feeling. 'Hurt Somebody' illuminates how the worry almost paralyses you. It's a personal experience where I was worried about hurting someone else, and I couldn't end a situation because of it."
"He's clearly ready to take it to the next level with the title of track of his debut EP" – Idolator
"Noah Kahan's music seems to blossom with each passing week, an artist of real skill and subtlety" – CLASH
Last month, Noah visited Australia for the first time on a whirlwind promotional tour, which included a stunning live performance on The Morning Show. Whilst here, Noah warmed audiences for US pop sensation Lauv at his debut Sydney show, wowing the sold-out crowd with his spellbinding live performance and winning over scores of new fans in the process.
Coming from humble beginnings in a small town of just over 1,000 people in Vermont, Kahan has already toured with likes of Ben Folds, Milky Chance, Lauv and Anderson East and was recently chosen to support George Ezra on his US tour this April/May. If that weren't enough for the rising star, Noah recently made his US television debut, performing 'Hurt Somebody' on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Noah Kahan won't be playing such intimate rooms for long, so get in while you can to catch this extraordinary talent live when he lands in Australia in June.
