From the Latin word for blossoming, Florescentia is inspired by the phenomena of photosynthesis found in biology. Life blooms as plants and flowers harness energy from the sun and convert it into chemical energy. The work combines simplicity with elegant movement. As the modules spin they open and close gracefully, encapsulating the delicate nuances of nature that we often take for granted. This other worldly display of colour and light fluoresces against the night and is reminiscent of a beautiful ballet performance as flowers unfurl and retract.
Come and enjoy the mesmerising kinetic movement of the swirling Florescentias dancing and shimmering in Darling Quarter.
