Darling Quarter
Set just behind the bright lights of Tumbalong Park (Darling Harbour), Darling Quarter is a laid-back oasis of restaurants, bars and green spaces.
1-25 Harbour St
Sydney NSW 2000
Australia
Since opening in 2011, Darling Quarter has become one of Sydney’s most unique and welcoming public spaces with a focus on sustainability and innovation. You’re right in the centre of the city but you’ll feel like you’ve escaped the 9-5 in this little pocket of paradise.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink, outdoor seating and the largest playground in central Sydney, with engaging and interactive water play facilities. There’s also a dedicated youth theatre, Monkey Baa Theatre Company and one of the world's largest interactive light installation, Luminous.
During Vivid Sydney 2022, even more brilliant installations will light up Darling Quarter. It’s always a popular destination for families and home to some of the festival’s more interactive exhibits.
How to get there: Catch the train to Town Hall and it’s just a short walk down the hill to Darling Quarter. You can also catch a bus into the city and alight at Bathurst or Liverpool streets. The light rail stops at Convention and Exhibition Centre, both only a few minutes from Darling Quarter, or you can catch a ferry to Darling Harbour.
