Tom completed his PhD at the University of Sydney, where he developed a compact spectrometer to quickly analyse chemicals. Measuring infrared light precisely is like measuring the fingerprint of molecules. Tom's company, Miriad Technologies, develops spectrometers that can exactly do this.

Dr Robert Acres

Scientist, ANSTO

As an industry support scientist at ANSTO, Dr Robert Acres helps Australian industries problem solve and innovate by identify and tailoring  analytical opportunities offered by ANSTO to the the client. 
Dr Acres previously worked as a scientist at the Elettra synchrotron facility in Trieste, Italy.

Mohsen Rahmani

Fellow, DECRA - Australian National University

Mohsen Rahmani is an Australian Research Council DECRA fellow at the Australian National University. He's received of a number of national and international awards, including Eureka Prize for Outstanding Early Careers 2018, Early Career Medal in Photonics and Laser Physics from the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics 2017.
