Event Details

{Kids/Code/Create} inspires kids and parents to create a project using code, light and music. Families will work together to develop computational, critical thinking and entrepreneurial skills. Taking place as a part of Vivid Ideas, this hackathon designed for families is the place to be for girls and boys to explore innovation, art and STEM.

{Kids/Code/Create} is a full day hackathon brought to you by Code Club Australia. Throughout the day event kids will delve into the world of coding using Scratch, Makey Makey and Raspberry Pi boards. Using design thinking principles and with the guidance of a parent or carer

kids will create an interactive sound or light project developing.skills in computational and design thinking.

The event runs 9.45-3pm with a lunch break.

{Kids/Code/Create} is a family-friendly event. Parents and carers will stay for the day to learn and play alongside their child. No child may be left unattended.

Code Club Australia is passionate about making sure every child has the opportunity to learn to code.This event will have a 50/50 girls/boys ratio and be accessible to varied learning styles and interest levels.

Code Club Australia is a network of over 1600 volunteer and teacher led clubs around the country working to #getkidscoding. We offer free curriculum and framework to any school, library or community centre hoping to bring code into the educational environment for kids. By registering for this Code Club event I understand that there will be photographers/videographers at this event. I will allow for myself/my child to be photographed at Code Club Australia events including still and moving images, and voice. Note that because we are using shared equipment, some expensive components are not available to take home. We will however, document your project and let you have access to your digital creation the following day!
