Vibe on this live collaborative set – Re-Unity – where Sampology masterfully re-imagines South Sudanese ‘King of Music’ Gordon Koang's acclaimed 2020 album Unity into a modern Australian electronic context.

Gordon’s voice radiates warmth and joy, and it’s impossible not to be charmed by his sunny-side-up take on life. “Unity is very important in this world,” Koang explains. “One hand cannot clap, but two hands can bring the sound. They bring the sound together. I call it Unity because if the Nuer, Aussie, Indian, Asian… all the communities in the world, if we work together we can grow.”

Hear Sampology’s spacey, celestial, disco steeped beats combine with Gordon’ traditional Neur rhythms and original compositions performed in English, Arabic and Neur. Live projection art, beamed by video artist Rachel Johnston, enhances the set by creating striking visual responses to the sonic repertoire.

In support, international party starters True Vibenation bring their irresistible blend of soul, afrobeat and hip hop to the Tumbalong Nights stage, backed by big bass, big beats and horns. Multi-instrumentalists Vuli, Moody and Klue artists produce beats and play horns live on stage.
