Event Details

After making her sublime Sydney Opera House debut as part of 2020’s online Digital Season, acclaimed singer-songwriter Gordi returns to the stage for a Vivid LIVE solo performance in the Drama Theatre.

The stage name of Canowindra-born Sophie Payten, Gordi’s unique mix of lush electronics and moody acoustic songwriting attracted the eye of US indie label Jagjaguwar, who released her debut EP, Clever Disguise (2015), and full-length album, Reservoir (2017), to worldwide praise. After touring and collaborating with the likes of Bon Iver, Sam Smith, Missy Higgins, Troye Sivan, Fleet Foxes and members of Sigur Rós, Gordi released her intricate, moving sophomore album Our Two Skins, which went top 20 and earned her both ARIA and J Award nominations. Most recently, she collaborated with Judith Neilson's Phoenix Central Park venue and Sydney production team VERSUS for the innovative performance film, Refracted.
